Facette is a sculptural sideboard that transforms a simple storage piece into an ever-changing play of light and shadow. Named after the hundreds of precisely formed facets that define its distinctive surface, the design explores how geometry can create movement without anything ever physically changing.
As light moves across the cabinet throughout the day, each individual facet catches and reflects it differently, creating shifting patterns of highlights and shadow that subtly alter the appearance of the piece. The result is a surface that feels alive, rewarding closer inspection while maintaining a clean, understated presence within the space.
Simplicity Through Precision
The faceted pattern wraps seamlessly across the front of the cabinet, uninterrupted by handles or visible hardware. Instead, each door opens with a gentle push, allowing the geometric form to remain completely uninterrupted and reinforcing the purity of the design.
Achieving this simplicity required careful consideration of every detail. Every facet contributes to the overall composition, creating a balance between mathematical precision and sculptural expression.

Contemporary Craftsmanship
Each Facette sideboard is individually handcrafted to order in England using HI-MACS® solid surface material before being hand-finished to a refined semi-gloss sheen.
Designed with modern living in mind, discreet cable management openings are incorporated into the rear of the cabinet as standard, allowing audiovisual equipment to be neatly concealed without compromising the clean appearance of the piece. These can be omitted if preferred.
Released in carefully selected edition colours, every sideboard is individually numbered and carries the Stuart Melrose studio mark. Alternative colours and finishes are also available by commission, allowing each piece to be tailored to its environment.

Produced as a limited edition of just 300 pieces in each colour, Facette combines contemporary furniture design with sculptural thinking, creating a statement piece that is equally at home in private residences, architectural interiors and gallery spaces.
